The Plinth is a broad mass: immobile, stone, and heavy. Its diamond shape appears differently extruded from different angles — a digitized warping of the rectilinear. The Plinth upholds claims: it serves as both protective barrier and public showcase for whatever rests on top of it, like a three-dimensional cousin of a picture frame. But a frame can be moved. Plinth's mass suggests that it has always stood right where it stands now, where you’ve just found it. Despite the dates chiseled on its side, it implies an unrecognizable time scale: dating back from unknown origins, moving towards forever.
